The fuzzy one
Meet Rev.
He's fuzzy. He's colorful. He's surprisingly strategic. Rev is our resident caterpillar, problem solver, tinkerer, inspector, occasional comedian, and all-round reminder of how we think business should be done.
He's not here just because he's cute. (Although, objectively…) He's here because Rev represents us.

Why a caterpillar?
Because we're big believers in small revisions.
Businesses don't usually transform because somebody showed up one Tuesday and changed everything. They grow because people keep paying attention.
Little improvements can become remarkable transformations. That is basically what caterpillars do.
Although, we admit theirs is slightly more dramatic
A better process here.
A smarter tool there.
Something protected before it breaks.
Something complicated made simpler.
An idea tried.
A lesson learned.
Another revision.
A fair question
Why is Rev patched together?
Somebody asked why Rev is all patched up, and if he'd been through some tough times. He has not. He is BUILT from revisions.
Look at the machines around this site: none of them rolled off an assembly line. They were built to solve a problem, then adapted, modified and improved as new challenges came along. Rev is that same idea brought to life. The patches, plates and straps say he has been tinkered with and improved. Perfectly functional. Not precious.
It is also a fair description of the work we do. Clients rarely arrive with a tidy digital world. They arrive with an old website, three domain accounts, a plugin somebody installed in 2018, a marketing idea, a spreadsheet, two passwords nobody remembers, something Bob’s nephew built, and a sentence that starts “so this is kind of weird, but…”
We take the pieces, work out what matters, and make the whole thing work better.

His patches aren't scars. They're revisions.
Every patch tells the same story: something needed improving, so we improved it.
What that means
Crafted confidence is not the same as perfect.
A flawless, futuristic Rev would be the wrong mascot for us, because it would promise something nobody can deliver. We are not saying that nothing will ever go wrong...
We are saying: things change, things break, businesses are messy, and we will keep working on it, with you. Rev looks like someone who has been maintained, adapted, upgraded and rather well looked after. So does a good website.

Still losing to sleeves, though.
House rules
Rev has a few rules.
To be clear, he did not write them down anywhere official. He just enforces them.
Stay curious.
There's almost always a better way.
Don't panic.
Problems are considerably easier to solve when nobody is running around screaming.
Tell the truth.
Sometimes good advice means telling someone not to spend money with us.
Be prepared.
The best emergency is the one somebody planned for yesterday.
Make it better.
Not necessarily bigger. Not necessarily fancier. Better.
Help people.
Otherwise, what's the point?
Have some fun.
We're building websites, not defusing bombs. Usually.

Crafted confidence
The good stuff is mostly invisible.
Rev doesn't believe confidence comes from pretending nothing will ever go wrong. It comes from knowing that when something does go wrong, you are prepared for it.
That is what we try to build for every client:
- Backups and monitoring
- Thoughtful infrastructure
- Useful tools
- Honest advice
- People who understand your business
- Systems shaped by years of seeing what businesses actually need
Some of it you will see. A lot of it, hopefully, you never have to.

Why Rev really exists
We take the work seriously. Ourselves, a little less so.
Behind the websites, servers, software, backups, marketing, code and assorted internet wizardry are real people helping other real people build things they care about.
We think that work should be thoughtful.
We think advice should be honest.
We think technology should make life easier.
We think businesses deserve partners who stay calm when things aren't.
We think there's almost always something we can learn.
And we think there's room in all of that for a little joy.
That's Rev. He's colorful because we are. He's a work in progress because we all are. And when things get weird…
We'll figure it out.
Want a team that stays calm?
Tell us what you're trying to build, or what isn't working. You'll get a person, an honest answer, and probably a caterpillar joke.
